A creative collaboration showcasing the work of eight Bristol and Bath based wedding suppliers
Earlier this year I received a very exciting invite to collaborate with a group of local independent businesses on a pink floral themed wedding photoshoot. I don’t currently offer a specific bridal jewellery collection but as all my designs can be made to order in custom colour palettes, my statement earrings and necklaces are often commissioned by alternative brides and their bridesmaids looking for something unique to wear on their wedding day.
I have been working on a range of headdresses that are perfect for festival themed weddings or brides wanting a less traditional wedding day look so I jumped at the opportunity to see them styled by and photographed along side the work of some indie biz wedding specialists.
The photoshoot was organised and styled by photographer Emma of HeartFullofTea and event florist, Petra of DreamUponABloom and took place in in the beautiful Botanica studio in Bath. It was a real treat seeing my colourful statement jewellery featured in such professional and visually stunning images. Scroll down to check out a selection of my favourite shots and read more about the independent small businesses who feature in them.
The Wedding flowers
The seriously sensational, sculptural floral displays and matching bride’s bouquet were created by Dream Upon a Bloom. Florist Petra trained at The Bath Flower school, (where she met photographer Emma) and specialises in bold and colourful, dried, fresh and faux floral displays.
Event signage & Wedding cake
The chic signage and luxurious red vegan wedding cake were provided by by Urban Frame and Relish Vegan. Typography nerd Laura offers modern calligraphy and bespoke signage to compliment your event or wedding’s theme. Bath based Relish Vegan believe that cake should be the centre piece of every party and aim to make ‘WOW’ worthy, dairy free cakes that are full of flavour. I didn’t get to to taste this one but it looked I N C R E D I B L E .
Bridal headdress
Two of my jewelled bridal headdresses in the floral wedding shoot’s pink and peach colour palette were shot by Emma, styled with flowers and other props. Then worn by the “bride”, model Natasha, both with and without a veil. These colourful wedding headpieces feature solid, satin covered ‘alice band’ style bases and laser cut layers of fabric and vinyl components that are glued and stitched into place. Their halo design creates a fan of jewel adorned, scallop edged shapes that frame the wearer’s head. Dakota rae dust headdresses can be worn with an up do or a loose, natural hair style for instant statement wedding style.
The wedding dress & Make-up
Model Natasha wore a chic, mid calf length dress by Bristol based wedding dress designer Rose Savage. Designer / dressmaker/ seamstress / tailor / pattern-cutter, fashion and fabric obsessed Rose would love to create the wedding outfit of your dreams! If you’re local to Bristol you can find her in her gorgeous Stokes Croft studio, which is easily identifiable by her dramatic window displays. Natasha’s make-up was by MUA Stephanie Graham who specialises in vegan, modern make-up that will emphasise your natural beauty.
