An exclusive opportunity to shop one offs and previously UNSEEN ONLINE pieces.

This hand embellished oversize T-shirt is a SAMPLE, produced last Summer to promote a T-shirt/sweatshirt launch. It is part of dakota rae dust’s PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN ONLINE shop update. One-off statement earrings, necklaces and sample colour ways that are usually only available at markets or other in-person events.

Laboriously hand embellished oversize T-shirt in BLACK, decorated with with secondhand fabric applique panels, an ornate, costume jewellery inspired print and 2d printed ‘jewels’.

You will find a size guide for this garment in the product images. I recommend laying flat a T-shirt you already own and like the fit of, then measuring to see how this garment will compare.

 

This oversize T-shirt has a wide scoop neck and  a relaxed, loose fit. Both the sleeve and body length are slightly longer than standard. (size guide available in product listings). This garment is produced in a facility powered by green renewable energy from 50% organic cotton and 50% tencel© lyocell

Vintage and second hand fabric

The vintage and secondhand fabrics used in my designs are sourced from local charity shops, Brocantes in France and via kind donations from fellow makers, looking to recycle their unwanted textile offcuts. All fabrics are machine washed before being repurposed.

Each hand embellished garment is decorated with secondhand or vintage fabric applique panels. These are cut out by hand and machine stitched into place. A large and ornate costume jewellery inspired vinyl print is pressed over the applique panels before being further adorned with 2d, vinyl printed, fabric ‘jewels’.

Caring for your Embellished oversize T-shirt

All my Embellished garments are machine washable at 30 degrees.  In order to keep the textural pieces of your embellishment in good condition a gentle cycle is recommended.

Shake out after washing and allow to dry naturally on a clothes rack or washing line.

Please DO NOT tumble dry or iron directly over the print. Turn inside out and iron on a cool setting.

I am currently offering a choice of two sweatshirts, three T-shirts and a T-shirt dress.
Alternatively you are welcome to provide a garment of your own to be embellished.

 

option 1. Dropped sleeve sweatshirt

This sweatshirt has a crew neck and dropped shoulders, meaning the sleeve seam sits off the edge shoulders. It is made from 100% organic cotton, in a facility powered by green renewable energy and is available in black, grey marl and navy.

option 2. Slim fit sweatshirt

This garment is slightly longer and narrower, with a wide neckline and raglan sleeves. It is cut from 100% organic cotton, in a facility powered by green renewable energy and is available in grey marl.

please note – This garment has now been discontinued by the supplier but i have a handful of blank garments in stock. Sizes are limited.

option 3. Oversize T-shirt

This oversize T-shirt has a wide scoop neck and  a relaxed, loose fit. Both the sleeve and body length are slightly longer than standard. These garments are produced in a facility powered by green renewable energy from 50% organic cotton and 50% tencel© lyocell and are available in black and white.

option 4. Loose fit T-shirt

This T-shirt has a wide scoop neck and  a relaxed, loose fit. These garments are produced in a facility powered by green renewable energy from 70% viscose and 30% organic cotton and are available in black and white.

option 5. Slim fit T-shirt

This garment has a slim fit shape, a wide neckline and short, rolled sleeves. Unlike my other garment options this T does not include any organic cotton and is available in black, white and grey marl.

option 6. T-shirt dress

This garment is an oversize T-shirt, designed to be worn as a dress and is cut from 100% organic cotton.

option 7. Provide a garment of your choice

For the ultimate personalisation service, add this ornate customisation to a garment of your choosing. This might be a garment you already own and love, something you’ve brought secondhand or just selected especially for the perfect fit/style/colour.

 

A size guide and photos for each style of sweatshirt can be found in the relevant product listing. The size guide shows the points on each garment that the measurements have been taken. To find the best fit I recommend laying out a garment you already own and like the size of, and comparing the measurements to find the best match on the guide.

All garments are embellished to order so there is a 3 week turn around time.
