The fan and frill, droplet shape components in these Statement earrings swing below teardrop shape studs. This construction means the earrings have plenty of movement, optimising the light reflecting off those teardrop shaped dark iridescent jewels. The jewels change from an olive green to a pinky red depending on the angle they are viewed from.
JEWELLED is a collection of colourful statement jewellery featuring recycled textiles and iridescent and colourful gems. The layered, vinyl printed fabric components were inspired by costume jewellery.
Secondhand Fabric
While the vinyl backing and decorative prints are new ALL the fabrics used in this pair of earrings are secondhand. The fronts of the earrings have been cut from a plain fabric which was once a photography backdrop! The earrings are neatly backed with a secondhand patterned fabric. All textiles are machine washed before being repurposed.
About the Iridescent statement earrings –
Despite their size, being fabric these earrings are relatively light weight and easy to wear – Please note the jewels are glass so weigh slightly more than the acrylic gems used in previous collections.
These dangly earrings fasten with surgical steel studs and butterfly backs, making them a good choice for anyone with sensitive ears.
Each earring measures roughly 8cm high by 5.5cm wide .
