The fan and frill, droplet shape components in these Statement jewel earrings swing below teardrop shape studs. This construction means the earrings have plenty of movement, optimising the light reflecting off those teardrop shaped lilac jewels.
JEWELLED is a collection of colourful statement jewellery featuring recycled textiles and iridescent and colourful gems. The layered, vinyl printed fabric components were inspired by costume jewellery.
Secondhand Fabric
While the surgical steel stud posts and vinyls are NEW, EVERY fabric used in these Statement jewel earrings is secondhand.
The lilac retro floral print cotton in the base component was secondhand and donated by a fabric loving friend base. The light blue frill shapes have been cut from a charity shop T-shirt. The earrings are backed with pale pink vintage floral fabric which was once a dress. I picked the original garment up at a kilo sale and wore it for several years before relegating it to my fabric pile. It was perfect for an earring upcycle! All secondhand fabric is machine washed before being repurposed.

About the Statement Jewel lilac floral Earrings –
Despite their size, being fabric these earrings are relatively light weight and easy to wear – Please note the jewels weigh slightly more than the acrylic gems used in previous collections.
These lilac dangly earrings fasten with surgical steel studs and butterfly backs, making them a good choice for anyone with sensitive ears.
Each earring measures roughly 8cm high by 5.5cm wide .
